I’m Heather Palmer, the Connecticut fiber artist behind Creative Bdr Boutique.
Using needle felting and bead embroidery, I transform wool fibers into richly textured “fiber paintings” inspired by nature, wildlife, and the landscapes of New England and beyond, creating scenes that feel both delightful and a little magical.
Each piece begins with raw wool and evolves through thousands of careful needle strokes, blending colors and building depth layer by layer. The result is artwork that looks like a painting from a distance but reveals incredible texture and detail up close.
My work celebrates the quiet beauty of the outdoors — peaceful fields, changing seasons, animals, and the small moments in nature that make us pause and appreciate the world around us.
My artwork has received awards at the Mystic Outdoor Art Festival two years in a row and was recently featured on Great Day Connecticut on WFSB Channel 3!

I regularly exhibit my work at juried art festivals and artisan markets throughout Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. Meeting people in person, sharing the process behind my work, and watching someone connect with a piece is one of the most rewarding parts of being an artist.

Every piece created by Heather Palmer is completely handmade using high-quality wool fibers, careful needle felting, and detailed bead embroidery. From blending colors, to building depth and texture, each artwork is created slowly and intentionally, ensuring every finished piece is beautifully crafted.

Creative Bdr Boutique artwork has received recognition at the Mystic Outdoor Art Festival:
• 2025 – Mary Ann Hall Prize
• 2024 – Mabel Kingsbury Fentress Prize
These awards celebrate excellence in fiber art and craftsmanship and are a meaningful honor within the regional art community.

One of my favorite recent moments happened when Great Day Connecticut visited Gather on Hopmeadow in Simsbury. While filming the segment, Scot Haney stopped in the gift shop and discovered my fiber artwork!
He ended up purchasing one of my needle-felted sheep pieces and even mentioned me by name during the interview.
It was such a fun and unexpected moment to see my work highlighted as part of the amazing community of local artists represented at Gather.
Seeing one of my little sheepies make a TV appearance was definitely a special moment!
